Caravans for Sale QLD

“Buying our Caravan was the best decision we’ve made in years.”
We affectionately call our caravan “Mildred”:  – our “MOBILE MOTEL”.   Our; - “TOW & GO ANYWHERE.”
Since Mildred's arrival, we get out and about so much more.
Although Mildred did become an extra bedroom when my cousin and her kids arrived on our doorstep, and continued to stay for almost a fortnight.

Having a caravan is GREAT FUN and I can thoroughly recommend it.
A motor home was not for us. We didn’t need two vehicles.
When we' decided to "look into" buying a caravan we'd spent a day looking through different types of new caravans.
- It’s not that we’re fussy, its just that we were new to caravanning and we wanted to make the “right” decision.
Doing this, we were able to get the feel of a caravan. We sat down and relaxed in one, and felt very much at home. “A caravan, this is so us” we’d decided.
I really liked the BIG sized caravans.
However we just wanted a caravan with a bed, a kitchen, a dining area, a shower, & loo. Somewhere to lounge/relax, and something that had plenty of draws and cupboards.
We’d loved to have been able to afford one of those big caravans.
The kids have now left home. We've moved into a smaller home, with a smaller section. We wanted a caravan just for the two of us.
There are a big range of sizes and styles on the market.
There were pop top caravans. When the top is down, their height shortens.
Out of curiosity we even looked through an onsite caravan.
We learnt a lot from studying all the different layouts and all the different caravans.

After our search of brand new caravans we had a clearer idea of what would suit our style, and our pocket.
It occurred to us that if we purchased second hand, then perhaps we'd get more caravan for our money.
We went to eBay -Queensland.
There were many caravans listed there. Each advertisment had many photos. There was a great price range of caravans also.
Next we checked out local private sales.
We phoned the owners first, and got the gist of what their caravan was like. (this included the age, maintenance, and the size of the caravan)
Finally we found “Mildred”, it just happened to be through a private sale.  No; Mildred isnt a pop top.
Mildred isn’t tiny.. She’s not a great big caravan either.
However her price was very compatible with our budget. The owner had a good and genuine reason for selling "her".
   Mildreds exterior appeared solid.
She’d looked a wee bit shabby in the inside, but then perhaps we could tidy her up a bit.
Everything “worked” inside her.  She had lots of cupboards, and draws.
To us she appeared to be in “good mechanical shape”, and, said the owner: I've kept up her maintenance. I certainly dont want to be touring around and have her break down in the middle of nowhere.
He produced all the receipts & documents to prove this.
The owner, who was a very pleasant and very approachable man was very happy to have someone with mechanical knowledge to check over the caravan.

Well; Mildred ticked all the boxes.. and we  realized we were viewing what for us was: “Caravan perfection”.
We made an offer, which the owner accepted.
We’ve had our Mildred for about 6 months now.
She’s had a bit of fresh paint in the inside, and the new bedding now matches the new curtains.. We’ve even added some floor coverings that are colour co-ordinated with the rest of Mildred.. She now looks grand.
We’re so enjoying the freedom, and  we're listening more to the weather forecast.
No need to book a motel now. Since Mildred arrival our conversations go something like this:  "This weekend will be fine. Lets go fishing, or lets go to ..... ".
Its fun staying at a caravan park too.  Now we can even talk “caravan” with other caravanners.
We’ve found ourselves a favourite fishing spot.  (Previously we hadn’t exactly relaxed near a beach for many a year.)
We’ve tried our hand at fishing. It seems that fishing needs much practice to perfect the art.  Weather permitting; there should be many happy returns.
